What is EasyMail?

EasyMail is an open source product which allows you to build a mail server on your own machine, with your own domain name, to create as many email accounts as you want and to send as many emails as you want.

Should I pay to use it?

EasyMail is open source and therefore it is free. You don't have to pay.

Is EasyMail open source?

Yes, it is.

What's the benefit for the contributors of this project?

There are many benefits but here are some of them. There are many IT projects out there which need mail servers every day and supporting a solution like EasyMail just makes our life easier. Also, for the developers who participate and contribute in the project this will improve their own skills. And last but not at least, adding such experiance in you CV is a great benefit.

What is the ultimate goal of EasyMail?

To be easy for installation and use, and of course to send emails.

I need a new functionality, can you develop it for me?

If you have an interesting feature in mind, create a new issue explaining what you want and what kind of problem it will resolve. It will be reviewed.

Does EasyMail provide a browser based interface for my mailboxes?

Yes, EasyMail uses "Roundcube" which is an open source webmail software. With its help each separate email account created within EasyMail can be accessed and managed through your web browser.

I need help with the installation. Can you help me?

If you experience difficulties during the installation, you can write a message on Slack and some of the people part of the core team will answer and help you as soon as they can.


How many emails per day can be sent with EasyMail?

That entirely depends on the machine on which you have installed EasyMail. The parameters which you should consider are: CPU and RAM.

Can I have multiple domains for my emails on a single EasyMail server?

Yes, you can.

Does EasyMail support autoconfig for Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird and other email clients?

Yes, it does.

Does EasyMail support DKIM?

Yes, it does.

On what OS environments can I use EasyMail?

EasyMail can be installed on any OS which supports Docker.
